Plant Canada
2005: General Information
Plant Canada 2005 was held on the University of Alberta campus in
Edmonton from June 15-18. A total of 602 participants representing six
scientific societies, six countries, and every province in Canada made this event a success. One third of the participants were graduate students. The
scientific program included 309 oral presentations and 114 poster presentations on topics ranging from plant genomics to cropping
systems. Nearly half of the participants joined an afternoon excursion to Devonian Botanic Garden, Elk Island Park, West Edmonton Mall, or the Muttart
Conservatory, and just under 500 people participated in our closing banquet at Fort Edmonton Park.
